I’m going to the hospital to have my port put in my chest today. It’s out patient surgery. They will put me to sleep, but I will be going home today. My understanding is that it will be connected to a major vein in my chest. It will be under my skin, so you won’t be able to see it, but you will be able to feel it. Then when I go in for chemo they will access my port with a needle and give me chemo thru that needle. It’s supposed to make the whole chemotherapy process easier. So here’s to surgery number 2!
